The Small Print
Content Policy
The rules this office writes under, published so you can hold us to them.
1. We do not scrape
Not one word here was taken from another review platform. Everything is submitted by the guest it happened to, or is original parody about an establishment that does not exist.
2. We roast the experience. We never invent a fact.
Our write-ups may only reference what the guest actually described. Rhetorical exaggeration is fair — a mattress may be said to have opinions. A new factual allegation is not: we will not add pests, illness, filth, crime or health violations that the guest did not report. This rule is absolute and it is enforced in the instructions our writers work under.
3. Parody is labelled parody
Our series of fictional establishments carries a visible PARODY badge and a note on every page confirming the hotel and the city are invented. We will never publish satire about a fictional hotel in a way that could be mistaken for a real one.
4. We never punch down
The villain is always management, corporate policy, the booking platform, the building, or fate. Never a low-wage worker. Staff who appear in an account are treated as fellow victims of the institution. We do not name individuals; where a guest names someone, we replace them with their job title.
5. Screening happens before anything is seen
Every submission is screened automatically before it reaches an editor, and rejected if it names private individuals, carries personal data, attacks a protected group, alleges serious crime by a named business, or reads as fabricated to damage rather than to describe. Nothing publishes automatically. A human approves every entry.
6. Ratings are opinions
Bin Ratings express this office's view of an experience as described to us. They are not measurements, they are not verified, and they are offered as opinion.
7. Notice and takedown
Anyone connected to an establishment may use our contact form with a page address and a specific objection. We flag the page for review on receipt, and where an entry is shown to be inaccurate we correct or remove it. Every story page carries a Report this story link for exactly this purpose.
8. We do not act on your behalf
The Refund Desk drafts correspondence for you to send yourself. We never contact a business, a platform, a bank or a regulator for you, and we never generate a threat that a given case cannot actually carry out — if you did not pay by card, our tools will not mention a chargeback.
